New addition to the SLLF

We welcome Jamaine Evangelista to our team!

Jamaine Evangelista is currently a scholar under the Ernst Mach Grant fellowship program and will spend the next three years with us in Vienna working on his dissertation project, for which he is conducting research on the intersection of language policy analysis, multilingualism, and education.

His study focuses on how teachers interpret and enact language-in-education policy in multilingual classroom settings, with particular attention to teachers' agency and the everyday realities they navigate while mediating policy reforms within linguistically diverse learning environments.

His research aligns closely with the work of the SLLF, particularly its focus on language teaching and language learning in contexts of diversity.

By exploring how teachers interpret and respond to language policy reforms, this research aims to contribute to current discussions on multilingual education and teacher professionalization.

We look forward to an exciting collaboration!
